Procurement Specialist / Senior Procurement Specialist

About the role

We’re looking for a commercially minded procurement professional to join our team. This role can be appointed at either Procurement Specialist or Senior Procurement Specialist level, depending on your experience and capability.

You’ll lead end-to-end sourcing activities across a diverse portfolio, including infrastructure, operational services and professional services, working closely with stakeholders to shape procurement approaches and deliver strong commercial outcomes.

This is a role with real ownership. You’ll be trusted to run sourcing activities, engage the market, lead negotiations and influence decisions, while balancing commercial value, risk and governance.

For more experienced candidates, there is scope to take the lead on more complex and high-value procurements, contribute to category and procurement strategy, and support capability uplift across the team.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading end-to-end sourcing activities, from planning through to supplier appointment and contract implementation
• Shaping sourcing strategies that reflect business needs, market conditions and risk
• Engaging with suppliers and running RFx processes, including evaluation and negotiation
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders and acting as a trusted commercial advisor
• Supporting contract development, supplier performance and ongoing commercial outcomes
• Identifying opportunities to improve value, reduce cost and optimise supplier performance
• Ensuring procurement activities align with governance, policy and delegated authority

At Senior level, you will also:

• Lead complex or high-value sourcing initiatives and negotiations
• Contribute to procurement planning and category strategies
• Provide guidance and support to other team members
• Help strengthen procurement frameworks, tools and capability

About you

You’re a confident and pragmatic procurement professional who enjoys working across stakeholders and delivering outcomes in a dynamic environment.

You’ll bring:

• Experience in procurement, sourcing or commercial roles
• Proven ability to lead or support end-to-end sourcing activities
• Strong commercial judgement and negotiation capability
• Experience working with contracts, suppliers and commercial risk
• The ability to influence stakeholders and navigate competing priorities
• Strong analytical thinking and communication skills

It would also be advantageous if you have:

• Experience in infrastructure, construction or complex operational environments
• Exposure to procurement systems or e-sourcing tools
• A relevant qualification (e.g. business, commerce, supply chain or MCIPS)
