About the Assignment 

Reporting to a Purchasing Lead, you will operate from Santos’ global head office in Adelaide in a dynamic and inclusive team. Your role will be to support the existing team in improving purchasing efficiencies in SAP as well as supporting with the day-to-day workload. 

In return, you will develop operational skills within a word-class supply chain environment, with exposure to all areas of Santos. You will also be under the guidance of an experienced team who are genuinely supportive of your career development. 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing potential vendors, assisting in negotiating contracts and expediting materials and services for stakeholders
  • Providing support to supply chain initiatives focusing on the minimization of waste and supply chain efficiency
  • Assisting with troubleshooting purchasing and supply chain issues in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders across the globe, to deliver integrated supply chain solutions
  • Supporting the supply chain leadership team, ensuring supplier performance achievement, and cost, delivery and quality targets are met


About You 

To be successful in this role you will have the following key attributes:

  • A proactive and ‘can do’ attitude 
  • Ability to problem solve and a high level of attention to detail 
  • Strong computer skills (ideally some SAP or ERP systems exposure), specifically for the accurate extraction, analysis and presentation of data 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office suite 
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing 


Mandatory Tickets / Quals / Certs 

  • A degree in Business, Logistics & Supply Chain, Commerce or Law.
  • Recent graduate or a few years experience in supply chain.
