About the Assignment

Chandler Macleod, in collaboration with Santos, is currently seeking a Junior Planner to join the team located in Brisbane, QLD. The primary objective of this position is to provide planning and project control services to the Onshore Development team. This covers a wide range of scopes and project types that fall under the Onshore divisions remit. It includes greenfield onshore development, exploration and appraisal, brownfields, scheduling of D&C resources to support priority operational tasks and C&FA scopes. 

The junior planner position within the onshore development team will deliver planning and scheduling services utilising multiple applications to deliver fit for purpose deliverables dependent on the scope they have accountability for. The Junior planner will be open minded with high communication and computer literacy skills. Willing to learn new computer applications and enthusiastic in seeking to become a key value adding member of the planning team. 

Tasks include:

  •  Development of full project lifecycle schedules including, Level 1, 2 and 3 schedules in multiple formats and software packages to support the project and program
  • Develop key deliverables to support projects moving through the project Lifecyle in line with the Santos Management System (SMS) requirements for major projects
  • Working closely with the planning team to provide support while seeking and completing development opportunities
  • Interacting with multiple business units in a cross functional organisation
  • Developing a network in the organisation to deliver required project outcomes and value to Santos
  • Developing, maintain, and update P6 and Actenum schedules for Development projects, with guidance from the planning team 
  • Develop, maintain, and update integrated schedules associated with the Annual Work Plan (AWP) process.
  • Critical path and float path identification, analysis, monitoring and reporting for projects and overall program.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly project reporting as required, and with support from the planning team. 
  • Other duties as required at the direction of the Team Leader.
  • Demonstrates behaviour in line with the Santos LEAP Behavioural framework
  • Compliance with the Santos Management System (SMS).
  • Compliance with the Santos Delegation of Authority (DOA).
  • Compliance with the Santos Corporate Governance and Safety requirements

This assignment is initially offered for 12 months, engaged via Chandler Macleod.

Location for this assignment is Brisbane working full-time office hours.

 About You

  • 2 years’ experience in engineering, construction, or resources industry, preferably in the oil and gas sector
  • Experience in collaborating and consulting with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with responding to multiple requests in a dynamic environment whilst prioritising and meeting deliverables
  • Experience in electronic documentation, workflows, enterprise reporting databases (ERPs, e.g., SAP, JD Edwards), engineering documentation & drawings, site-based construction, all highly advantageous.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, including MS Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • +1 years planning experience in developing and/or updating project schedules
  • Reporting visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Spotfire or similar)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (engineering preferred), trade or relevant qualification & experience
  • Formal project management qualifications desired, not essential
