About the Assignment 

The position of Senior Financial Analyst – Santos Energy Solutions, is responsible for internal management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and supporting the external financial reporting for the Group and its subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities will include:

Management Reporting

• Prepare month-end reports on key metrics, and delivery to key stakeholders, and conduct in-depth financial analysis, including but not limited to, financial modelling, variance analysis, and trend forecasting to support decision-making processes
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working collaboratively with department heads to ensure accuracy and alignment with strategic goals
• Act as a financial partner to specific business functions or departments, providing guidance, insights, and support to facilitate effective financial management
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within financial processes and systems, driving efficiency and effectiveness across the organisation
• Prepare and present financial reports and dashboards to senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations for action
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and accounting standards, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial data
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization, fostering collaboration and communication to achieve shared financial objectives

Forecasting, Budgeting and Planning

• Prepare annual budget, as part of collaborating with a range of stakeholders across the business
• Prepare periodic forecasts and analysis and advice for stakeholders including divisional finance and Group reporting

Annual and Half Year Group reporting requirements

• Prepare annual and half year subsidiary Financial Statements
• Provide responses to audit queries in relation to area supported

ASX

• Provide ASX reporting information to Investor Relations

About You 

To be successful in this role you will have the following key attributes:

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, Tableau)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
• Proven track record of driving process improvements and delivering high-quality financial insights in a fast-paced environment.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and solve complex problems independently.
• Demonstrated experience building and managing internal relationships and collaboration with others to meet common goals and objectives
• SAP Finance system knowledge, and demonstrated skills at an advanced level with Microsoft Excel

Mandatory Tickets / Quals / Certs 

• Professional certification (ICAA, CPA or equivalent) - essential
• Bachelor level qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or an equivalent field.
• Experience in financial analysis or related roles, preferably within the energy industry or a similar sector
