Calibre has an opportunity for two experienced Lead Civil Engineers to join a large multidisciplinary project team in staff roles based at our centrally located Perth CBD office. As a Lead Civil Engineer at Calibre, you will take on a critical role in leading an established team of civil engineers working on a major project for our Tier 1 Iron Ore mining client. 

This large-scale project aims to maintain our client’s production of iron ore in Western Australia and is valued at more than $1 billion. The project scope is focused on civil earthworks, roads, material handling transfer pads, non-process infrastructure pads, surface water management and drainage. As a Lead Civil Engineer, you will take on a critical role to ensure we deliver the work to the highest standard while taking on the responsibilities to:

  • Lead a team of civil engineers and spearhead the development of your team.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance across various stages of the project from design through to implementation. 
  • Produce design documentation, specifications, and project deliverables.
  • Apply a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles to create and deliver practical and economical solutions that meet client's requirements.
  • Produce and coordinate the production of documentation, specifications, and project deliverables within agreed project timeframes and budget for the given scope.

Thrive with us! We hope you’ll bring

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 12+ years of relevant professional experience and demonstrated experience working on mining, earthworks and road projects.
  • Demonstrated experience working on study and design projects within the mining industry.
  • Demonstrated capability as a technical leader and people mentor with the ability to lead and manage a team of engineers and designers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, having impact and influence with the capacity to build professional relationships both internally and client-facing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse and resolve complex issues.
