Within Western Australia our Mining & Resources Division delivers engineering and construction projects for our key Tier 1 iron ore producing clients, which enables them to sustain and expand their mining operations throughout the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. As a trusted partner to the WA resource sector, Calibre is integrated in our Client’s Major Projects which enables up to go above and beyond and succeed together with our clients.

The Role:

Reporting to the Environmental Manager, this position will support the development, communication, execution and monitoring of environmental strategy, approvals and compliance across our mining & resources business, with a specialised focus on our rail sustaining capital and rail major projects.

  • Collaborate with leadership, our client’s team, project management and other personnel on various projects to provide strategic advice to ensure best practice environmental outcomes.
  • Develop, review, and maintain varies elements of approvals and management systems.
  • Opportunities to attend various sites throughout Western Australia.
  • Mentoring, growing and supporting the more junior enviro team members.
  • Integrate with Project Teams and provide timely and fit for purpose strategic advice.
  • Ensure environmental management activities are delivered in a compliant manner.

Thrive with us! We hope you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science/Management or related discipline
  • 6+ years’ experience working in a similar position, preferably within a mining/resource environment
  • Technical experience in environmental impact assessments and approvals within the Pilbara and surrounds
  • Working knowledge of current State and Federal Environmental Legislation
  • A collaborative approach in working with the broader project teams
  • Willingness to attend site on an ad hoc basis
  • Experience in GIS with the ability to identify and mitigate potential environmental impacts, manage large quantities of spatial data and run environmental/GIS models
