As a Billing Officer, you’ll play a key role in protecting revenue and supporting cash flow by ensuring invoices are accurate, timely, and compliant.
Your attention to detail helps prevent downstream credit and collections issues, keeps customer confidence high, and ensures financial records are audit‑ready. Getting billing right means everything that follows runs more smoothly — and your role sits right at that foundation.
About the Role
This is a detail‑driven, process‑focused role for someone who enjoys structure, accuracy, and working with systems.
Reporting to the Billing Team Leader, you’ll prepare and issue invoices, resolve billing queries, and work closely with Operations, Credit, and Collections teams to ensure billing reflects contracts, pricing, and service delivery. Budget for this role is $75,000 plus super.
What You’ll Be Doing
Billing Operations
- Prepare and issue invoices in line with billing schedules, contracts, and pricing agreements
- Validate billing data to ensure accuracy and completeness before release
- Apply approved adjustments, credits, and rebills within delegations and controls
- Complete billing within agreed timeframes and billing cycles
Billing Queries & Issue Resolution
- Respond to customer billing enquiries professionally and within service standards
- Investigate discrepancies and work with internal teams to resolve issues
- Escalate complex, high‑risk, or non‑standard billing matters when required
- Support timely resolution to prevent downstream credit or collections impacts
Compliance, Controls & Documentation
- Follow internal controls, approval pathways, and audit requirements
- Maintain accurate, complete, and audit‑ready system notes and documentation
- Use approved processes, templates, and communication standards
Systems & Reporting
- Use billing and finance systems accurately and consistently
- Maintain up‑to‑date billing records and supporting data
- Support reporting, audits, and reviews as required
- Identify recurring issues or improvement opportunities
Team & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with the Billing Team Leader and broader Finance team
- Liaise with Operations, Credit, and Collections teams to resolve billing issues
- Contribute to a professional, reliable, and cooperative team environment
About You
You’re organised, detail‑oriented, and confident working with numbers — someone who takes pride in accuracy and consistency.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in billing, invoicing, or finance operations
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Experience working with financial or billing systems
- Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
Bonus points if you have:
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience
- Experience in a contract‑based or high‑volume environment
- Exposure to credit or collections processes
- A certificate or tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
