We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to play a critical role in managing complex people risk, supporting leaders, and delivering fair, compliant and defensible employee outcomes across our national workforce.
About the role
This is a specialist advisory role responsible for end‑to‑end employee relations case management, working closely with operational leaders and senior People & Culture stakeholders.
Reporting to the Vice President – Culture & Capability, you will manage a broad range of ER matters including performance, conduct, investigations, grievances and terminations. The role has a strong coaching and capability uplift focus, helping leaders navigate complex processes with confidence while maintaining appropriate risk controls and escalation.
This role is central to strengthening ER governance, improving consistency of decision‑making, and reducing organisational risk.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end ER cases from intake to closure, including performance management, misconduct, investigations, grievances, show cause processes and terminations
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate pathways, controls and escalation
- Prepare high‑quality ER documentation including allegations letters, investigation plans, outcomes letters, warnings and termination correspondence
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous case files, file notes and evidence
- Coach and advise leaders on ER processes, options, risks and best‑practice approaches
- Support or lead workplace investigations in line with procedural fairness
- Partner with legal advisors on complex or sensitive matters
- Support Fair Work Commission matters, including preparation of documentation and evidence
- Identify trends, repeat behaviours and systemic risks, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
What you’ll bring
- Strong experience in employee relations, workplace relations or HR advisory roles
- Proven experience managing complex ER cases in regulated, high‑risk or large environments
- Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, awards and enterprise agreements
- Confidence coaching and influencing leaders through difficult people matters
- High attention to detail with strong documentation and case management discipline
- Sound judgement, resilience and the ability to operate under pressure
