Security Officer - Gatehouse

We are seeking a Casual Gatehouse Security Officer (Level 3) to support operations in a high-security environment, providing frontline access control, monitoring, and site protection services.

About the Role

As a Gatehouse Security Officer, you will be responsible for managing site access and supporting the security integrity of a critical infrastructure facility.

You will act as the first point of contact for visitors, contractors, and deliveries, ensuring all access requirements are met and site procedures are followed.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage vehicle movement, access control, and visitor/contractor passes
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, and building management systems
• Respond to security, fire, and WHS-related alarms and incidents
• Conduct internal and external patrols of site areas
• Issue and manage security access cards and site inductions
• Ensure all personnel have correct approvals and access levels
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and daily activity records
• Monitor perimeter security and prevent unauthorised access
• Provide traffic control for pedestrian and vehicle entry points
• Communicate effectively via radio, email, and reporting systems

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar security role
• Strong experience in gatehouse, access control, or critical infrastructure environments
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong computer skills (MS Office and reporting systems)
• Ability to write clear and accurate incident reports
• Confidence working independently and managing competing priorities

Mandatory Requirements

• Current Victoria Security Licence
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate
• Current Driver’s Licence with Vehicle
• Ability to pass site and compliance requirements
