Job Impact
As a senior operational leader, Regional Operations Manager for Queensland, you will be accountable for service delivery, commercial performance, and people leadership across a large regional portfolio. You will operate as a leader of leaders, manage national and strategic accounts within a matrix structure, and play a critical role in Certis’ transformation agenda.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Operational Leadership & Service Delivery
- Full accountability for service delivery across a designated region, ensuring contractual KPIs, compliance obligations, and customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded
- Oversight of rostering integrity, labour deployment, and workforce readiness across multiple portfolios
- Governance of operational risk, audits, and regulatory compliance in highly regulated environments
Commercial & Financial Performance
- Ownership of regional revenue, margin, and cost‑to‑serve outcomes
- Driving labour efficiency and reducing unrecovered labour costs through disciplined rostering and workforce management
- Supporting tenders, rebids, and scope reviews, and ensuring delivery assumptions align with commercial outcomes
Customer & Strategic Account Leadership
- Acting as the primary customer advocate for national and key strategic accounts within the region
- Leading structured client engagement including strategic reviews, performance reporting, and escalation management
- Partnering with internal teams to deliver innovative, cost‑effective security solutions while maintaining service quality
People Leadership & Succession
- Leading, mentoring, and developing Client Services Managers and other operational leaders
- Building high‑performing leadership teams with clear accountability, capability uplift, and succession pipelines
- Strengthening engagement, retention, and culture across large frontline workforces
- Championing Certis values, safety leadership, and inclusive leadership practices
Transformation & Continuous Improvement
- Championing national transformation initiatives and leading local adoption
- Driving digital, data‑driven ways of working and standardising best practice across sites
- Simplifying processes to improve speed, quality, and margin
- Supporting ISO9001 quality management and continuous improvement frameworks
What You’ll Bring
Essential
- Current Security Licence (including Security Advisor subclass where required)
- Extensive senior operations leadership experience within security or contract‑based services
- Proven experience managing large, diverse, frontline workforces
- Strong commercial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and labour efficiency
- Demonstrated ability to influence and lead in a matrix environment
Desirable
- Current ASIC and MSIC clearances
- Certificate IV in Security Risk Management and/or Workplace Health & Safety
- Experience in high‑risk or regulated environments such as aviation, ports, or critical infrastructure
- Exposure to large‑scale transformation or technology‑enabled change
