We are seeking professional Security Officers to support Queensland's public transport network across the Gold Coast Light Rail. This is a frontline role where professionalism, customer service and a strong commitment to community safety are essential in creating a safe, welcoming and secure environment for passengers and stakeholders.

About the Role

The security team supporting the Gold Coast Light Rail plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, comfort and confidence of passengers travelling throughout the network.

As a Security Officer, you will be a visible presence across stations and light rail environments, delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining a safe and secure atmosphere for commuters, visitors and transport staff.

Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time

Location: Gold Coast Light Rail Network

Roster:Rotating shifts including weekdays, weekends and public holidays, inclusive of day , afternoon and overnight shifts Additional shifts may be available to support operational needs and event requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

• Providing a visible and professional security presence across the Gold Coast Light Rail network
• Delivering exceptional customer service and assisting passengers with enquiries and directions
• Maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for commuters, visitors and stakeholders
• Monitoring and responding to security incidents in accordance with site procedures
• Managing and de-escalating challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
• Supporting crowd management and emergency response activities when required
• Completing incident reports and maintaining accurate records
• Ensuring compliance with all client, company and regulatory requirements

About You

You are a confident and professional Security Officer who enjoys working with people and takes pride in creating safe, welcoming environments for the community.

You thrive in customer-facing roles, remain calm under pressure and can confidently manage challenging situations while delivering exceptional service.

You will bring:

• Previous experience in a customer-facing security role
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A professional and approachable manner
• Ability to build positive relationships with passengers, stakeholders and team members
• Confidence in managing conflict and de-escalating difficult situations
• Strong situational awareness and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accurate reporting capability
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment
• A proactive approach to safety, security and customer service
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts, primarily on Fridays and Saturdays, with the ability to support additional shifts as operational needs arise

 Mandatory Requirements

• Current QLD Security Licence (Crowd Control & Unarmed)
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Valid Australian Driver Licence
• Ability to obtain Rail Category 3 Medical Clearance
• Unlimited working rights in Australia
