Collections Team Leader

As we continue to grow and modernise, we’re looking for a Collections Team Leader who can lead from the front, drive results, and build a high‑performing team in a fast‑moving environment.

As a Collections Team Leader, you’ll play a critical role in protecting the financial health of the business. You’ll lead the day‑to‑day collections operation, ensuring outstanding receivables are managed effectively, ethically, and in line with regulatory requirements.

You’ll sit at the intersection of people leadership, operational delivery, compliance, and customer experience — coaching your team to achieve results while maintaining strong, professional relationships with customers. Your work directly supports business sustainability, risk management, and long‑term performance.

About the Role

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who enjoys staying close to the work while bringing out the best in others.

You’ll lead a small, capable collections team, manage complex or escalated matters, and use data and systems to drive performance. Success in this role means balancing commercial outcomes with compliance and care — not just collecting dollars but protecting relationships and reputation.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead & Motivate

• Coach and support a team of Collections Officers
• Set clear expectations, priorities, and performance standards
• Provide regular feedback, development support, and escalation cover

Drive Results

• Oversee the active management of debtor portfolios
• Support complex, high‑risk, or escalated collection matters
• Reduce aged debt and improve cash flow outcomes

Stay Compliant

• Ensure all activities meet legislative, regulatory, and internal requirements
• Maintain accurate, audit‑ready case notes and records
• Identify and escalate risks early

Improve the Way We Work

• Use systems, reporting, and data to track and improve performance
• Contribute ideas to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer outcomes
• Partner with Finance and Operations to resolve issues impacting recovery

About You

You’re confident, grounded, and commercially minded — a leader who can motivate people while staying close to detail and risk.

You’ll bring

• Experience in collections, credit control, or accounts receivable
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or coaching experience
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Sound judgement, resilience, and attention to detail
• Comfort working in a target‑driven, evolving environment

Bonus points if you have

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience
• Experience in regulated or high‑volume environments
• Exposure to compliance frameworks
• A finance or business qualification
