About the role

This is a full-time, ongoing position with a salary of VPS 6.2 $166,939 plus 12% superannuation.

As a Solution Architect - Security, you’ll play a key role in shaping technology solutions that support Cenitex and our Victorian Government customers.

You’ll work across a range of projects and initiatives, translating business needs into practical, secure and sustainable technology solutions. From shaping high-level architecture and reviewing proposed solutions, through to advising on risk, capacity, availability and service continuity, you’ll help ensure what we design can be successfully delivered and supported in operation.

You’ll bring your technical expertise and architectural thinking to complex environments, while working closely with customers, project teams, technical specialists and senior stakeholders. You’ll also have the opportunity to influence technology direction and contribute to how Cenitex delivers contemporary IT services to the Victorian Public Sector.

You’ll be supported by a broader architecture and technical community, with access to established Cenitex standards, patterns and service offerings to help you develop effective solutions.

What you will be working on

  • Effectively and accurately translate and describe business requirements to IT-based requirements.
  • Assurance that internal and external projects/initiatives are comprehensively planned and macro designed to meet the defined stakeholder requirements as well incorporating Cenitex IT standards, strategies, principles, practices, etc.
  • Undertake high level architectural thinking & decision making in the absence of operational policies or process.
  • Ensure all macro designs encompass appropriate levels of IT Capacity, Availability and Service Continuity
  • Effectively and accurately understand the business and information risk context of internal and customer stakeholders, to identify and propose macro architectures and countermeasures to mitigate risks in solutions.

You are someone with:

  • Substantial knowledge and experience in IT Security/Cybersecurity strategy creation and macro designing IT Security/Cybersecurity infrastructure-based solutions, in a complex technical environment with sound knowledge of project management and architectural frameworks.
  • Superior leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to credibly communicate, negotiate and obtain strategic outcomes at the most senior level.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to analyse issues from different perspectives and draw commercially sound recommendations.
  • Strategic thinker and commercially astute, with an ability to see the ‘big picture’ and deliver outcomes in accordance with strategic direction.
  • It is a requirement of this role to be Baseline security cleared. NV1 security clearance would be highly desirable.

Tertiary qualifications in IT, Engineering, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, are desirable. Architecture, service management or project management certifications such as TOGAF, ITIL or PRINCE2/Agile will also be viewed favourably.
