About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Engineering Clerk to join our Asset Management team. Reporting to the Fleet Manager this role provides vital administrative and procurement support to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our bus fleet. You’ll be based at our Edgeworth depot, with regular travel to other CDC NSW workshops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generating purchase requisitions and issuing approved purchase orders
  • Ordering parts, uniforms, supplies, and stationery for workshop operations
  • End-of-month fuel reconciliation (shared responsibility across the team)
  • Supporting payroll processes and resolving pay-related queries
  • Maintaining and updating mechanics’ registers (licences, training, compliance, etc.)
  • Preparing KPI scorecards, stocktake, and audit documentation (ISO, BOAS, Clean Fleet)
  • Coordinating inspections, training sessions, and compliance activities (e.g. Fire Warden, First Aid)
  • Assisting with event management and coordination for workshops and staff functions
  • Supporting the preparation, communication, and maintenance of rosters
  • Filing and maintaining workshop records
  • Carrying boxes and equipment (up to 15 kg) as required
  • Travelling between depots from Bateau Bay to Singleton as needed

About You:

You will bring proven clerical and administrative experience along with:

  • Sound understanding of procurement processes for materials and services
  • Familiarity with automotive workshops and/or the bus industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to plan, prioritise, and execute tasks under time pressures
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft AX or SAP (highly desirable)
  • Flexibility to travel between depots across the Central Coast and Hunter regions
  • Ability to safely lift and carry items up to 15 kg when required
  • Willingness to assist across a variety of workshop, compliance, and operational tasks
