CDC NSW is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and motivated Depot Manager to lead our Terry Hills and Mt Kuring-gai teams. Reporting to the Regional Manager, this role involves managing and overseeing the depot team to ensure efficient, customer-focused services in line with the standards and requirements of our commercial contracts with Transport for NSW.

The Opportunity
As the Depot Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and performance of depot operations across our Terrey Hills and Mt Kuring-gai depots, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of transport services. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational expertise, people management capability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
You will lead a team of drivers, operational staff, and depot support personnel while working closely with maintenance, scheduling, safety, and senior leadership teams to achieve operational and commercial objectives.

- Proven leadership experience within a transport, logistics, fleet, operations, or service delivery environment.
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and develop diverse teams.
- A positive and motivated team player with exceptional internal and external stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills
- Well organised, able to prioritise and manage projects effectively
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety principles and operational compliance requirements.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all day-to-day depot operations, ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable, and punctual transport services.
- Foster a positive workplace culture focused on safety, accountability, and customer service.
- Manage and develop depot employees through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant transport legislation, workplace policies, and safety requirements.
- Monitor operational performance and implement initiatives to improve efficiency and service outcomes.
- Manage depot budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation.
- Investigate incidents and operational issues, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, regulatory bodies, and local communities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operational and people-related processes.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the public transport or bus industry.
- Knowledge of Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
- Certificate of Transport Management
- Bus Operator Accreditation Scheme Certificate
