The Role:

The L&D department at CDC NSW have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Driver Trainer to deliver a range of training initiatives to our Drivers and Depot Support Staff. This role reports into our Learning and Development Manager and will be based at Thornton depot with travel to various other depots in the Hunter Valley region.

 Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Train, develop, support, coach and mentor Drivers and Depot Support Staff to meet CDC NSW standards for safety, driving behaviours and customer experience.
  • Ensure training and on-road assessments are completed to the standards and requirements of CDC NSW and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure new Drivers and Depot Support Staff are adequately onboarded to the induction plan appropriate to their role.
  • Conduct pre-employment driving assessments and provide outcome and feedback as required for recruitment process.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of licensing and regulatory requirements for Drivers.
  • Prepare and maintain training resources and materials for compliance purposes.
  • Comply with NSW state’s WHS, Regulations and Codes of Practice
  • Comply with CDC NSWs WHS and Risk Management Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure all accidents and incidents are investigated promptly.
  • Reporting hazards and incidents

About You: 

To be successful in this role, you must have: 

  • Current MR license, NSW Bus Drivers Authority and NSW Working with Children Clearance
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 / TAE40110)
  • Certificate IV in Transport & Logistics (Road Transport – Heavy Vehicle Driving Instruction)
  • Previous experience in training and/or mentoring
  • A passion for health and safety and providing a professional and memorable customer experience
  • Resilient and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Programs (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)

The following will also be highly regarded:

  • Current HR Licence
  • Experience training individuals for MR and HR licence upgrades
  • Previous hands-on experience maintaining records in a Learning Management System (LMS)
