The Role:
An exciting opportunity to be part of the CDC team at our Blue Mountains Bus Depots has opened up and CDC welcomes the applications of all who are willing to start or make a change in their career by joining one of the largest providers of public transport in Australia.
The Field Infrastructure Officer reports to the Depot Service Delivery Manager and is responsible for preparing, installing, cleaning and maintaining bus stop signs, route pointers, bus stop displays, customer notices and associated items to fulfil the standards and requirements of the company and our operating contracts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean bus stop signs and timetable cabinets including graffiti
- Install new bus stop signs as approved by council or RMS, and repair/replace existing signs
- Remove, dig and install/concrete-in bus stop poles
- Climb ladders to install/repair/replace bus stop signage and route markers
- Laminate, cut, trim and install service change bulletins and bus stop timetable displays
- GPS bus stop locations for inputs to a scheduling system
- Assist in investigations relating to infrastructure complaints
- Undertake stock take of inventory, and notify Planning and Infrastructure Officer of any additional materials required
- Liaise with suppliers of materials, obtain quotes for materials needed
- Fuel and wash work vehicle
- Assist with other tasks as required from time to time
About You:
To be successful in the role, you will need below skills and attributes:
- Must hold a minimum C class licence with experience in driving a manual car, an MR licence would be an advantage
- Be physically fit as the role requires climbing ladders, digging holes with shovel, lift weights up to 20 kg, work while squatting, gripping equipment and tools including drills, screwdrivers etc.
- Able to work autonomously in demanding environment
- Detail oriented with attention to accuracy
- Well organised and able to work outdoors in changing temperatures, weather and seasons
- Excellent communication skills
- Bus driving experience desirable but not essential to the role
