About the Role:

The Finance division at CDC is looking for a dynamic, passionate and self-motivated Financial Accountant to join their team at the Seven Hills head office.

This is an ongoing full-time opportunity reporting to the Manager of Financial Accounting to provide support for the Finance function. This role will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financial records, supporting month-end closings, preparing reports, and maintaining compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  •  Preparation of month end journals and accruals.
  • Preparation of reconciliations.
  •  Profit & loss review and analysis.
  •  Fixed assets register support as required.
  •  FBT preparation support.
  •  Support with other taxes as required.
  •  Support with BPC uploads.
  •  Assisting with preparation of information for year-end accounts.
  •  Responding to internal and external audit items.
  •  Provision of performance report information as required.
  •  Budgeting and forecasting.
  •  Ensuring that accounting standards and policies are adhered to.
  •  Assisting the Manager of Financial Accounting to maintain policies and procedures for the effective management of the financial accounts.
  •  Identifying and assisting with process improvement and systems enhancement initiatives as required.
  •  Reviewing accuracy of financial records.
  •  Responding to financial queries as required.
  •  Accounts Payable or Receivables assistance as required.

About You:

  •  Ability to establish positive relationships to gain cooperation and collaboration.
  •  Demonstrated experience with creating and analysing financial statements.
  •  Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  •  A sound understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and their application
  •  Analytical and numeracy skills, particularly in relation to financial and operational aspects of business.
  •  Knowledge of Microsoft D365 is desirable.

 Qualification and accreditations:

  • CPA or equivalent is desirable.
  • Bachelor's or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
