The Role:

What you will do but not be limited to:
Monitor and maintain shift rosters and ensure drivers and buses are allocated prior to the commencement of shifts for management of fatigue and payroll
Ensure that services are delivered in a manner that allows CDC to meet its contractual KPIs
Ensure that yard staff are fuelling buses and maintaining records.
Ensure that fuel deliveries are monitored ensure adequate supplies of fuel are available at the depot
Ensure drivers attend work each day in a timely manner and dressed appropriately
Allocate buses and drivers to cover rail replacement and charter bookings ensuring correct management of fatigue and payroll processing.
Respond and make changes to drivers and buses allocation due to accidents, availability of buses and absenteeism in a timely manner and ensure they are accurately updated in the system.
Investigate Accidents/incidents by reviewing CCTV and other sources of factual information pertaining to the investigation and commence and/or update AX with the outcome/findings. Save CCTV to hard drive and maintain CCTV register
Monitor the performance of staff and take disciplinary action as required to ensure staff are performing to expected standards
Ensure the Traffic Management Plan is adhered to by drivers.
Respond in a timely manner to requests from OCC with regard to provision of drivers and buses relating to incidents
Follow up with drivers and ensure that drivers complete accident/incident forms and ensure that accident/incident forms are passed to Shift Manager.
Ensure CCTV is obtained, secured and copied and saved in the appropriate register/folder on the system following any bus accident/incident.
Communicate with the Depot / Service Delivery Manager, or equivalent, about issues of the day and collaborate with counterparts at other sites to drive best practice across sites
Ensure all defects and/or mechanical issues with buses are reported via kiosk.
Complete shift reports (including log sheets keyed into system) in a timely manner
Ensure that overtime is the best return of paid resource time and assets for CDC.
Assist with the record keeping for lost property and respond to enquiries of lost property (outside of office hours).
Liaise with customers on return of lost property including the recording of customer details upon receipt of items (outside of office hours).
Review contract cleaning activities to ensure work is at a satisfactory standard and invoiced correctly.
Following instructions and using the safety equipment provided
Reporting hazards and incidents
Coming to work in a fit state, free from fatigue, drugs and alcohol
Other duties as required
Monitoring On-Time-Running (OTR) of bus fleet using PTIPS and up-to-date driver information. Maintaining KPI’s as per contractual requirements with TfNSW
Identifying and clarifying information obtained by drivers over the radio and resolving issues
Liaising with mechanical staff in relations to breakdown and faults within the fleet on the road.
What you must have:
- Ability to think in a logical thought process, remain calm in changing priorities and challenging situation and circumstances; and providing prompt and professional services to the bus drivers
- Willing to work in a varied shift pattern including alternate weekend shift
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to maintain a friendly, calm and professional manner and strict confidentiality at all times
- Able to identify and rectify problems and issues in a timely manner
- Comfortable dealing with people (employees and customers) from a wide diversity of culture and respect cultural differences
- Proficiency in computer skills and comfortable to learn new technologies
- Willing to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment
- Must have or willing to obtain a Working With Children Check for Paid Employment purpose.
