The Opportunity
Our Learning & Development team at CDC NSW is looking for a passionate Driver Trainer to help shape the next generation of professional drivers. This is your chance to make a real impact—coaching, mentoring, and inspiring our workforce to deliver safe, customer-focused journeys every day.
Based at our Seven Hills depot, you’ll also travel across Sydney Metro depots, bringing your expertise and enthusiasm to where it matters most.
What You’ll Do
- Train and mentor Drivers and Depot Support Staff to meet CDC NSW’s high standards for safety, driving excellence, and customer experience.
- Conduct on-road assessments and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
- Deliver engaging onboarding programs for new team members.
- Perform pre-employment driving assessments and provide constructive feedback.
- Keep up-to-date with licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate training resources and compliance documentation.
- Champion WHS and risk management practices, ensuring a safe environment for all.
About You
You’re not just a trainer—you’re a motivator and a role model. To succeed, you’ll bring:
- Current MR license, NSW Bus Drivers Authority, and Working with Children Clearance.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 / TAE40110).
- Certificate IV in Transport & Logistics (Road Transport – Heavy Vehicle Driving Instruction).
- At least 2 years’ experience in training or mentoring.
- A passion for safety and customer service excellence.
- Strong communication, resilience, and time management skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office.
Bonus Points For:
- Current HR License.
- Experience training for MR and HR license upgrades.
- Familiarity with a Learning Management Systems (LMS).
