This is a Permanent Full-time role.

We work under a Hybrid working model, meaning you’ll spend some of your time working from home and as well as in our new offices based at 699 Collins Street, Melbourne.

Reporting to the Analytics Lead, this Data Analyst role is primarily responsible for the delivery of data analytics and reporting services for the fulfilment team. This involves aligning analytical solutions with business needs and includes stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, prioritization, dashboard design and development, conducting deep dive analyses and completing ad-hoc data requests, so that the business can make informed and evidence-based decisions

What You'll Be Doing

What does a normal day in the life of a Data Analyst, Fulfillment at Catch look like?

Well… no two days at Catch are alike, but you could probably expect your typical day to include some of the following things:

Work closely with the relevant business stakeholders (e.g. Head of Fulfilment, warehouse managers, Head of Inventory & transportation, other operations managers) to identify reporting and analytic needs to support decision making within the Fulfilment business

  • Ask probing questions to ensure the business problem and the analysis requirements are clearly defined
  • Intercept business ideas/questions/concerns, identify the required data points for analysis, retrieve required data from the database, conduct the analysis and circulate the findings and recommendations back to the business
  • Develop, update, and automate Tableau dashboards, whilst ensuring data quality, data integrity and data accuracy are upheld
  • Work with key business stakeholders in creating better observability of order life cycle using data from many independent applications
  • Identify and improve potential areas of report inefficiencies by optimising queries, designing data marts, and curating reports in our data catalogue.
  • Identify key areas of improvement and levers that can be pulled to help shift key business metrics
  • Collaborate and work closely with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, BI Developers, Data Scientists and upstream application developers to ensure data integrity, scalability, and advanced metrics design
  • Convey clear requirements to the rest of the data and analytics team and work closely with them to design and develop any data products required for analytical work e.g. write queries to build data marts that would streamline reporting
  • Act as a key engagement point for all fulfilment related data requests, including new data, existing data and derived data requests

The Skills You’ll Have

  • Tertiary qualified in relevant discipline (Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science).
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar role within retail or supply chain, scoping, developing and delivering BI solutions and actionable insights
  • A star in SQL, ETL, Tableau, data structures and data modelling
  • Prior expertise supporting a retail or supply chain business and working with large and complex datasets
  • Proven experience in using analytics to generate insights and make recommendations to improve/optimise business processes and solve business problems
  • Curious, business outcome focused & can communicate effectively to a non technical audience
  • Self-starter attitude with the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Can work both independently and collaboratively
  • Experience with warehouse management systems will be a huge plus
  • Statistical programming language like Python or R is a plus
