 The Opportunity

Catch is currently seeking a Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing to collaborate with the diverse business units across Catch. In this role, you'll be responsible for development and execution of strategies aimed at enhancing team members' safety and wellbeing at our Truganina Fulfilment Centre.

Your focus will be on implementing and managing an integrated healthy and safety management system that meets legislative and self-insurance obligations.

 

What you’ll be doing

What does a normal day in the life of a Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing look like? Well, no 2 days are alike at Catch, but you could probably expect your day to include some of the following things:

  • Promote safety awareness throughout the business and where possible have a Catch & One Digital company-wide approach to our policies and guides.
  • Drive a safety and wellbeing culture through partnership and coaching to lead a zero-harm workplace
  • Engage senior leaders across the business (Head Office and Fulfilment Centre) to build their capability to role model and prioritise safety and wellbeing as part of day-to-day life at Catch.
  • Develop and communicate strategy/framework and ensure alignment to business, legal and self-insurance obligations
  • Review strategy and programs annually and report on performance (both lead and lag measures)
  • Provide reporting and escalations on weekly/monthly and ad hoc basis as required
  • Effectively manage all internal and external reporting requirements, Safety Steer Co and build relationships with the Heads of Safety in the Wesfarmers Brands. 
  • Provide reports on Catch Safety Performance (lead and lag) as required to Catch, One Digital and Wesfarmers (i.e. Board Reports and or Sustainability Reports)
  • Ensure learnings and corrective actions from audits, incidents and or other sources are implemented and enhance the health and wellbeing of all team members
  • Partner with the Wesfarmers Self-Insurance team on compliance and team member return to work plans as required.


The skills you'll have

  • Higher education in one or more of the following: Human resources management, learning and development, psychology or occupational health and safety (OH&S) qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years OH&S experience in a similar organisation (Distribution focused), but be able to tailor messages and initiatives across different working environments
  • Leadership and influencing skills with experience leading a high performing team
  • Ability to build safety cultures, systems and frameworks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in reporting, analysis, and presentation of trend in health and safety areas, including staying updated on best practices and benchmarks in OHS
  • Strong prioritisation and time management skills
  • Adaptable and resilient
  • Drive, motivation, and passion for helping people reach their full potential
