Lady Northcote Discovery Camp
Lady Northcote Recreation Camp is located in the Rowsley Valley 16km west of Bacchus Marsh and approximately 70 kilometres from Melbourne. The Camp features a mix of accommodation options sleeping up to 240 people. The camp is set in a rural environment and local attractions include the Brisbane Ranges, The You Yangs National Park and Lerderderg Gorge. Our core business is the provision of camping and outdoor programs to a range of user groups. Specifically we are focused on creating outcomes that enhance environmental awareness, personal identity, leadership, creative thinking, communication, values and attitudes. The vehicle for creating outcomes is the process of adventure learning specifically utilising the following activities; environmental education / interpretation, high ropes adventure course, flying fox, giant swing, low ropes, initiative activities; canoeing, archery, orienteering, yabbying, mountain bikes, and more.
About the Role
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will work within the catering team to ensure all campers receive delicious meals during their stay. You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and providing food for campers, including the coordination of special diets
- Assembling and preparing ingredients as required
- Applying best practice as outlined in the camp’s food safety program
- Upholding the values of the Y at all times
This is a casual position paying $31.18 p.h + super + Y Benefits!
Ideally days and hours are Thursday, Friday and Saturday's between 7am-2:30pm or 4:30pm - 7:30pm.
About You
You are a motivated individual with a commitment to perform to their best. You possess problem-solving skills and can apply initiative to work unsupervised, if required. Previous catering or hospitality experience, and knowledge and understanding of kitchen operations will be highly regarded.
