Maintenance Officer (Painter)

Are you a skilled painter who takes pride in maintaining safe and attractive facilities? YMCA Victoria is seeking a Maintenance Officer – Painter for Anglesea Discovery Camp. You’ll prepare surfaces, apply finishes, mix and match paints, and advise on materials to ensure our buildings look their best and meet safety standards.

About the Camp

Anglesea Discovery Camp is a coastal adventure camp, managed by YMCA Camps. Catering to schools and groups year-round, the team at Anglesea run a variety of programs and activities to suit every group, from beach swimming, canoeing and skateboarding by day, to campfires and stargazing by night. Featuring flexible accommodation options for clients, a vast array of outdoor activities, and nearby access to rivers and beaches, Anglesea Discovery Camp provides the rare opportunity to explore the sand, sea, surf, bush and river environments all in one place.

About the Role

• Perform maintenance painting, including surface preparation and detailed finishes
• Operate, clean, and maintain painting equipment
• Erect scaffolding and ladders safely, following YMCA procedures
• Work independently and efficiently on painting projects
• Assist with general maintenance and grounds duties
• Carry out risk assessments and contribute to safety documentation
• Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety standards
• You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external contractors, respond to client needs, and uphold the YMCA’s commitment to safeguarding children and young people.

This is a Full-Time 6-month Maximum Term Contract paying $44.91 p.h + super.

About You

• Trade qualifications and experience in residential and commercial painting
• Driver’s Licence, WWCC, and National Criminal History Check
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Knowledge of painting materials, tools, and practices
• Attention to detail, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to health, safety, and safeguarding standards
