We are seeking an enthusiastic Demi Chef who has experience in premium kitchen service to work within one of our restaurants. The restaurant works on a 7 day rotating roster and will require you to learn and develop skills in all sections of the busy kitchen operation.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:

• Formal qualifications in Commercial Cookery.
• Experience in a high volume a la carte restaurant;
• Must have thorough knowledge of security, health and safety requirements in a commercial kitchen environment.  
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team;
• Hotel/resort experience will be highly regarded;

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Production of all buffet food items, a la carte items and other special requests, as specified by chef in charge.
• Assist in production of food according to demand of guests, season, religions, and assist in proper and timely supply and /or set up for all outlets.
• Replenishing of buffet and its proper reuse.
• Assist in requisitioning supplies from stores and help monitor proper stock rotation in operation.
• Follow instructions given by chef in charge.
• Ensure food quality and presentation standards are met as outlined by chef in charge.
• Consult with chef in charge regarding bookings, special services and/or dishes required.
