This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic team and make a significant impact in a growing organisation where innovation, technology, continuous improvement and data-driven decision making are central to our future strategy.

The Opportunity: Finance Manager

This is a unique leadership opportunity that combines responsibility for both the finance function and Buttercups' technology, systems and data agenda.

Reporting to the Chief Corporate Services Officer, you will lead a multi-disciplinary function spanning finance operations, financial planning and analysis, business systems, data and reporting. While the role retains strong accountability for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and compliance, it also serves as the organisation's internal owner of technology platforms, business applications, analytics capability and AI adoption.

We are seeking a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys being hands-on, can operate comfortably across both finance and technology environments, and is excited by the opportunity to modernise systems, improve organisational capability and help shape the future operating model of a growing organisation.

This role offers a rare combination of strategic influence and operational ownership, providing the opportunity to work closely with the Executive Leadership Team on business performance, technology investment, data strategy and organisational growth.

In this role, you will own:

• Lead the finance function across multiple legal entities

• Produce monthly management and Board reports with commercial insights and analysis

• Personally own the annual budget, quarterly reforecasts and rolling cashflow forecasts

• Develop financial models to support strategic decision-making, growth initiatives and capital planning

• Oversee treasury, debt facilities, compliance and financial governance

Technology and Systems Leadership

• Own the organisation's technology and systems agenda

• Lead financial systems implementation and business application improvement projects

• Manage outsourced IT providers and technology vendor relationships

• Ensure systems, platforms and processes remain fit for purpose as the organisation grows

• Support enterprise architecture and business systems governance with external support as required.

Data, Analytics and AI

• Drive the development of business intelligence, reporting and analytics capabilities

• Establish strong data governance and data management practices with external support as required.

• Champion the practical adoption of AI tools across the finance function and broader organisation

• Improve organisational access to timely, meaningful and actionable data

• Support the development of future reporting and performance dashboards

What you'll bring to the table

• CA or CPA qualification with a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline

• 7–10+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership responsibilities

• Strong experience in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning & analysis

• Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated capability in financial modelling

• Experience leading finance transformation, systems implementation or technology improvement initiatives

• Strong understanding of business systems, reporting platforms, data management and technology governance

• Demonstrated experience using AI tools to improve productivity and outcomes, or a clear passion and aptitude for adopting AI-driven solutions

• Experience leading finance teams, including offshore and outsourced resources

• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting, taxation and compliance requirements

• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and business partnering skills

• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and growing organisation

Why Buttercups?

• Leadership role with genuine influence across finance, technology and business systems

• Opportunity to shape the organisation's technology, data and AI roadmap

• Hybrid working environment

• Make a meaningful contribution to the lives of children and families across Western Australia
