HR Senior Advisor – People & Culture

Burger Urge | Queensland | Full-Time

We believe in doing burgers the way they were meant to be made, using top-quality local ingredients, bold flavours, and sustainable practices. Just as importantly, we believe in building a workplace where people feel supported, empowered, and proud to be part of the journey.

As Burger Urge continues to grow across Queensland and Australia, we are looking for a capable, independent HR Senior Advisor to join our People & Culture team and play a key role in supporting our restaurant network and support office.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, autonomous HR Advisor role within a fast-paced QSR / hospitality environment.

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of HR operations, partnering closely with venue leaders and the support office.

You’ll be trusted to own your space, make decisions, and manage matters end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical HR advice to managers and franchisees across QLD
  • Manage employee relations matters (performance, misconduct, grievances, investigations)
  • Support end-to-end recruitment and onboarding across the network
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Work, Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and internal policies
  • Support visa program administration and right-to-work compliance
  • Assist with HR documentation, contracts, and policy implementation
  • Partner with payroll and systems teams to ensure HR data accuracy
  • Support change initiatives and continuous improvement across People & Culture
  • Act as a trusted HR contact point for both venues and support office teams

About You

You’re confident, self-directed, and comfortable working independently.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience as an HR Advisor / HR Generalist, ideally in hospitality or QSR
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation
  • Experience managing employee relations matters end-to-end
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with senior stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, pragmatic approach
  • Confidence supporting operational leaders in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience working across multi-site or franchise networks (highly regarded)

Why Join Burger Urge?

  • Dynamic & supportive environment that values initiative and ownership
  • Career progression within a growing national brand
  • Competitive salary package
  • Healthy office snacks
  • Exclusive brand discounts
  • Convenient office location with easy transport access
  • Opportunity to play a key role in shaping the HR function as the business evolves
