The Role:
The Business Engagement and Performance Branch is the strategic engine room of Council’s Corporate Services Group. It sets the standard for governance, portfolio management, and delivery excellence, ensuring Council’s operating model is future-ready and aligned to community priorities.
The Manager Strategy Policy and Reporting leads the Strategy Policy and Reporting section of Business Engagement and Performance branch to optimise Corporate Services performance and drive strategic alignment across the Group. This executive role is responsible for shaping the roadmap for future improvements, embedding ways of working, and ensuring robust operational governance that supports consistent and effective service delivery.
The Manager provides leadership in monitoring and reporting on Group performance, maintaining the COS operating model, and delivering strategic performance analysis to inform decision-making.
To be successful you will:
- Lead the Strategy, Policy and Reporting team to improve performance and strategic alignment
- Build an inclusive, high-performing culture that supports wellbeing, capability and continuous improvement
- Lead the development and implementation of compliant strategies, policies, planning and reporting practices
- Oversee service performance monitoring, reporting and catalogue management to support transparency and accountability
- Drive business improvement initiatives and embed One COS ways of working.
- Provide strategic analysis and advice to support decision-making and performance improvement
- Provide governance advice and oversight to support compliance and effective decision-making
- Maintain frameworks, processes and tools that support consistent planning and alignment
- Lead strategic projects and programs that improve services and deliver transformational outcomes
- Build trusted partnerships and provide strategic advice across Council.
- Ensure compliance through effective governance, risk management and assurance practices
- Foster collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement across Corporate Services
- Lead One COS communications and engagement to ensure clear and consistent messaging
- Contribute to Council leadership, strategy, planning and organisational improvement initiatives.
