Our Branch

Strategic Communication and Engagement leads, develops, implements, advises on and evaluates all external communication for the whole of Brisbane City Council.​ Teams across the branch collaborate to plan, drive and deliver strategic and innovate communication plans for a program areas.

Our Team

Group Account Management is a highly skilled team that specialises in project management, stakeholder relationships, communication strategy and implementation. The team partners with program areas across Council (the client) and collaborates with the wider Strategic Communication and Engagement branch to solve problems, identify opportunities and deliver consistent, successful communication outcomes, building trusted relationships to protect Council’s reputation and enable better results for Council and residents.

The Role

We are looking for an Account Coordinator to provide essential support to the account management team, helping to deliver communication projects and ensuring smooth project execution.

Working closely with the account management team, you will coordinate project activities, maintain accurate documentation, support customer enquiries, and help ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.

In this role, you will prepare reports and presentations, complete proofreading and quality checks, undertake project timeline monitoring and general coordination across the branch. You will help maintain client relationships, gather initial brief details, develop communication plans, provide strategic communication advice and support cross‑branch collaboration to ensure accuracy, compliance and positive client experiences.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team, contribute to team goals, give and receive feedback, and achieve agreed performance standards
  • knowledge of contemporary marketing and communication trends, including digital marketing, and the ability to apply this knowledge to improve campaign outcomes
  • proven experience supporting or managing marketing and communication projects, with the ability to coordinate activities and meet project deadlines
  • strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and deliver excellent customer service
  • well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to research, write, edit, proofread, and present information for a range of audiences
  • demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment
  • sound administrative and organisational skills, including the ability to follow established procedures, prepare accurate documentation, and support consistent service delivery
  • a willingness to learn and develop account management skills while contributing to a collaborative, customer-focused workplace culture.
