Our Branch
Support Services provides Council's efficient back-of-house support ensure more resources can be focused on Council’s front-line service delivery. The Financial Management & Operations team is part of Support Services and is responsible for the timely and accurate billing and collection of Council’s revenue, cost-effectively billing the right customer, the right amount and at the right time.
The Role
As a Billing & Collection Support Officer you will be responsible for providing efficient and effective Revenue Management services by raising invoices, instigating debt recovery, facilitating and negotiating payment arrangements and assisting in the preparation of legal documents and correspondence.
The role provides quality customer focused support to assist team members in the performance of their role with the aim of achieving business objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for a team player who is committed, determined, and customer focused with a high attention to detail.
To be successful you will have:
- experience in revenue management/credit management industry, including managing debtor accounts and debt levels, escalating as required to best practice
- effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders and actively contribute to a positive team culture
- customer focused behaviour by working within the level of delegation or escalating issues to resolve customer issues promptly
- ability to organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
- ability to solve problems by interrogating corporate systems and analysing financial and other data
- knowledge of the relevant trade practices and industry acts used in debt collection and recovery activities.
