Salary Range: Band 6 - $116,089 - $128,453 + Superannuation (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions) 

Work type: Permanent Full-time x 4 roles 

Location: Carindale, Garden City, Chermside and Brisbane Square

The Role 

Senior Team Leaders – Library Operations play a key leadership role across our library branches. Working closely with Regional Operations Coordinators (ROC’s), Coordinators and other Team Leaders, you will provide leadership, operational oversight and staff support to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery aligned with Library Services’ strategic direction. 

This is a customer-facing leadership role that requires strong people management capability, sound judgement and the ability to manage complex customer and staff matters. You will model Council values, support staff wellbeing and performance, and contribute to service improvement and change initiatives. 

Key accountabilities include: 

  • leading and role modelling strong customer focus and a values-based culture 
  • managing staff performance, development, wellbeing and engagement 
  • resolving complex customer and staff issues 
  • ensuring library operations align with Library Services’ goals, KPIs and governance requirements 
  • supporting service delivery through periods of change and continuous improvement. 

To be successful for the role you will require:  

  • demonstrated evidence of capability aligned with Council’s Leadership Blueprint 
  • substantial experience in the delivery and management of dynamic library services 
  • proven ability to lead inclusive, collaborative teams across varying rosters 
  • strong interpersonal, communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills 
  • demonstrated experience in managing large collections within a stock assessment framework 
  • experience using performance data and KPIs to inform decision-making. 

A degree in library and information management is desirable.
