The Role

We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Field Technical Officer - Mosquitos to join our team. This role plays a critical part in reducing mosquito-borne disease risk and improving community amenity through mosquito surveillance and control programs.

In this hands-on technical role, you will contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of ground-based and aerial mosquito control programs. You will undertake field investigations, including the setting and monitoring of mosquito traps, mosquito identification using microscopes, and the accurate recording, reporting and entry of surveillance data, while providing high‑quality technical and operational support to internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves responding to customer requests and complaints via phone and email in a professional and timely manner.

To be considered you will have:

  • sound knowledge of insects, lifecycles and habitats with an ability to identify mosquito species and general pest
  • demonstrated experience in applying a range of laboratory and diagnostic techniques
  • well‑developed computer skills, with experience in data entry, database management, reporting and record keeping
  • demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality customer service through effective written and verbal communication.

This role requires a valid ‘C’ Class Drivers licence.
