Salary Range: Band 7 $127,965 - $139,905 + Superannuation 

(Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

Work type: Temporary Full-time

Duration: Up to 2 years (Extension/s thereafter but not guaranteed).

Infrastructure Services (IS) brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.​

Our Branch

Transport Assets and Operations (TAO) has a key role to play in planning and maintaining Council's transport network and in implementing the Transport Plan for Brisbane to enable the efficient and sustainable movement of people and freight.

The Role

The Transport Modelling Analyst plays a crucial role in providing authoritative and strategic advice on transport planning studies, traffic engineering and modelling, and transport data within the Brisbane Infrastructure division. Key responsibilities include leading customer-focused approaches, developing software tools for transport analysis, and collaborating with team leaders to meet performance standards aligned with ongoing project investigations.

The role involves assisting in major projects such as Smarter Suburban Corridors (SSC), Inner City Movement and Place projects, and providing modelling support for business cases like Story Bridge, Metro expansion, and Bowen Bridge Rd.

  • provide authoritative and strategic transport planning advice
  • develop tools for data analysis and modelling support
  • collaborate with team leaders to meet performance standards
  • assist in key projects like Smarter Suburban Corridors and Inner City Movement
  • contribute to improving workflow efficiency and maintaining high quality standards
  • analyse transport data to find indicators for planning strategies and feed into transport models for decision-making processes.

To be successful you will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • proficient in various transport modelling software, including EMME, AIMSUN, and more
  • skilled in data analysis and scripting to derive insights from large datasets
  • effective communication and report writing abilities
  • experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders
  • be committed to ongoing professional development
  • strong problem-solving skills for innovative solutions in transport planning.
