CARS is divided into four dynamic work areas, all working together to deliver compliance and provide the highest level of community value to Brisbane residents.
The Role
We are seeking 2 x Parking Compliance Officers to join our team, responsible for ensuring the enforcement of parking compliance in line with state government legislation and local laws.
You will investigate parking violations and take appropriate action, including education, mediation, and enforcement, to prevent recurrences.
This role requires someone who can work autonomously in the field, making decisions, problem-solving, and handling sensitive information with confidentiality.
Key responsibilities include interpreting and applying local laws and legislation, conducting interviews, gathering evidence, preparing investigation reports, and attending court to present evidence. You'll work closely with the Compliance and Regulatory Services (CARS) team, ensuring adherence to performance standards and maintaining strong customer service.
The role requires participation in a 9-day fortnight roster, covering a wide range of hours, providing flexibility and the chance to make a real impact within the community.
To be successful you will have:
- strong ability to contribute to team direction, provide and receive feedback, and meet performance standards to foster a culture of excellence
- quick to learn and effectively interpret legislation, regulations, and guidelines relevant to local government licensing and regulatory compliance in Queensland
- solid organisational skills, with the capacity to manage and prioritise workloads, make decisions, and solve problems independently
- competency in conducting investigations, gathering evidence, and preparing comprehensive reports, correspondence, and relevant documentation
- capable of attending court and presenting evidence regarding offences
- proficient in entering and extracting data from electronic databases and software programs
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- adaptable to changes, team dynamics, and shifting responsibilities within the parking compliance team
- experience in a government or regulatory environment is highly valued
- Certificate IV in Government (Investigations) or equivalent is a plus.
