Brisbane City Council’s Library and Customer Services Branch deliver a range of customer services and facilities which help foster communities which are safe, healthy, active, vibrant and inclusive, now and into the future. Our teams are responsible for developing customer centric processes and delivering outstanding customer experiences.
As the Library Engagement and Experience Officer, you will lead and support initiatives to enhance community and customer engagement across Library and Customer Services. You will develop and deliver inclusive, innovative, and strategically aligned programs, events, and outreach initiatives across 33 libraries, the Mobile Library, schools, and community groups. This includes creating accessible content, supporting staff training, and building strong relationships with internal and external partners, while ensuring programs meet deadlines, budgets, and Council guidelines. In doing so, you will promote lifelong learning, strengthen community connections, ensure equitable access, and advance Brisbane City Council’s goals by fostering a culture of engagement, diversity, positive behavioural change, and service excellence.
To be considered, you will have:
- experience in engagement and change strategies, including social media
- knowledge of modern public library services; budget and workload management
- strong interpersonal and advisory skills
- understanding of engagement, inclusion, and social media trends
- excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- skills in conflict resolution, negotiation, and stakeholder management, and
- proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Microsoft Project, and internet research.
