This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Lord Mayor of Brisbane.
The Lord Mayor sets the strategic direction for Brisbane and this is delivered by Councillors who are members of the Establishment and Coordination Committee, also known as Civic Cabinet.
Chairs of Civic Cabinet cover a range of portfolios, including the Economic Development, Nighttime Economy and the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Infrastructure, Transport, Planning, Environment and Community Services.
The Office of the Lord Mayor is a dynamic and fast-paced environment engaging with internal and external stakeholders on issues, policies and projects that are priorities of the administration.
The Executive Support Officer will be responsible for a range of administrative functions for the Lord Mayor’s Office and Chief of Staff including diary management, record keeping, reviewing correspondence and liaising with the Lord Mayor’s Administration and Engagement team.
The Executive Support Officer will also work closely with the Lord Mayor’s team of advisors and office staff and assist with a range of relevant Council governance matters.
The successful applicant will be reliable, professional and willing to learn, with strong attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. The successful applicant will also be confident and efficient in using current systems and technology.
This role requires someone who thrives in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly and responsiveness is critical.
The ability to use discretion, maintain confidentiality and show good judgement in a sensitive office environment is essential. Prior experience working in a ministerial, electorate or ward office of an elected Federal, State or Local Government representative is highly regarded.
We are looking for an individual with between 2 and 5 years’ administration experience. A competitive salary and remuneration package will be offered, commensurate with the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
This role will require a Criminal History Check.
