Salary Range: Band 5 - $98,778.00 - $111,969.00 per annum, 36.25 hr week plus 17.5% leave loading, plus 14% superannuation and access to flexible working arrangements (Remuneration stated is for full-time positions and effective from 08 October 2025)

Location: Sherwood Bus Garage

This recruitment process will seek an Order of Merit to create future placements at other bus garages across Brisbane. 

You can be part of Brisbane City Council, which has a central role in readying the city for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games over the coming years. 

Our Business 

Public Transport Services help keep Brisbane residents and visitors moving across our city. Our group operates and maintains one of the largest public transport fleets in Australia. Council’s 8 bus depots, spread across the city, ensure efficient operation of Council’s fleet.  

The Sherwood bus garage is located 12 kms South West of Brisbane City and has been awarded a five Green Star rating for the environmentally friendly sustainable design. The team are values based with a keen eye for detail and a passion for improvement and efficiency. 

The Role  

Ensure the quality and standard of bus repair through established standards, procedures and benchmarks. Carry out investigations and resolve issues relating to incidents, accidents, repairs and warranty of the fleet vehicles. We are looking for someone who has a passion for operational improvements, including the ability to collect and analyse data with a solution focus, working in a fleet maintenance environment. 

The role is varied and requires a knowledgeable and flexible individual who is responsive and meticulous in record keeping with a commitment to the principles of Zero Harm in Brisbane’s bus network.  

To be successful you will have: 

  • research, develop and deliver solutions across a variety of fleet maintenance projects 
  • an understanding of maintenance issues associated with fleet body, chassis and interior condition 
  • a demonstrated ability to analyse a variety of data to inform and improve operations 
  • strong communication skills to negotiate and influence a diverse stakeholder group 
  • experience with fleet maintenance systems and technology 

It is a mandatory requirement to hold a certificate III in either mechanical, electrical or coach building or equivalent experience as well as a current C class drivers' licence.
