Construction delivers an extensive range of specialist services in the areas of infrastructure, storm water drainage, bridge maintenance, transport network technologies, trades, land remediation, asset intelligence, lighting and facility services.

The Role

As the Inspections Coordinator (External), you’ll play a key role in maintaining the safety, reliability and performance of Brisbane’s bridges and structural assets. Leading a multidisciplinary team, you'll coordinate inspection programs, manage contracts and oversee the delivery of works that support critical infrastructure used every day by the community.

This is a varied and hands-on opportunity where you'll work closely with contractors, planners and stakeholders to identify future works, manage risks and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with Council standards. You'll have a direct impact on the long-term management of Brisbane’s structural assets while driving quality, value for money and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• lead the planning, procurement and management of inspection contracts
• coordinate inspection programs for bridges and structural assets across Brisbane
• manage contractor performance, contract administration and project controls
• monitor budgets, expenditure and forecasting to support effective program delivery
• build strong relationships with stakeholders to identify priorities and drive continuous improvement.

To be successful you will have:

• experience managing contracts, procurement activities and tender evaluation processes
• strong knowledge of bridge and structural asset inspection practices and standards
• experience working with a range of structural asset types, including bridges, wharves, boardwalks and retaining walls
• excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide clear advice and reporting
• the ability to lead teams, manage risks and deliver high-quality outcomes in a complex operational environment.
• experience leading complex operational services or multi-site environments, delivering safe and efficient outcomes
• a strong commitment to workplace health and safety, risk management and operational compliance
• proven leadership skills and the ability to foster a high-performing, values-based team culture
• strong problem-solving and continuous improvement skills, with a focus on delivering practical business outcomes.
