Our Branch
Asphalt and Aggregates oversees the management of Council's quarries and road surfacing operations, including the laying and repair of asphalt pavements, minor pothole repairs and road line marking. The branch consists of three core business units: Road Resurfacing, Asphalt Production and Quarries.
The Role
As the Works Supervisor Road Marking, you will provide day‑to‑day supervision of field staff delivering road and pavement marking works, working closely with the Delivery Manager to ensure services are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to required quality standards. This role leads a strong customer‑focused and safety‑driven culture, ensuring compliance with WH&S legislation and Council policies, while coordinating resources, resolving operational issues and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. You will also support staff performance and development, maintain technical standards and quality control, and undertake required administrative tasks to support efficient and accountable service delivery.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated ability to lead and manage performance by setting clear direction and expectations, providing ongoing support and feedback, and monitoring individual and team outcomes
- proven technical experience within a commercial road marking environment, with the ability to deliver cost‑effective products and services that meet customer and operational requirements
- highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working effectively with customers, staff and a range of internal and external stakeholders
- sound knowledge of road marking products and services, including the ability to interpret plans and set out works accurately
- strong written communication skills, including experience in preparing reports and providing clear written advice and feedback to internal and external customers.
- demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify, assess and resolve complex operational and commercial issues.
- possession of a current Certificate III in Civil Construction (Road Marking) or equivalent
- a C Class Drivers’ Licence.
A Certificate 3 in Line Marking, a current MR Class driver’s licence or higher and competence in the use of Microsoft Office applications and relevant systems are desirable not mandatory.
