Our Team
The Employee Relations team supports the organisation to confidentiality manage people and employment matters by developing contemporary industrial arrangements, providing strategic industrial advice and support, and building the capability of our leaders to confidentiality manage their employee relations issues.
The team is structured into Industrial Relations and Advice, HR Delivery, Governance and Improvement and Strategy and Business Services. With the team preparing for certified agreement bargaining and implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, there is currently an opportunity for a Senior Employee Relations Advisor to join the Governance and Improvement team.
The Role
As a Senior Employee Relations Advisor within the Governance and Improvement team, you will play a critical role in:
- ensuring a strong employee relations governance framework by leading the ongoing review and audit of business processes and performance, coordinating the review of HR procedures and managing channel management strategies
- developing and maintaining education, training and resources that support leader self-service and build leader capability
- coordinating Council’s Contact Officer network, including training and provision of corporate-level insights into how Council is managing frontline employee issues
- delivering data-driven insights through the development of reporting, dashboards and analysis that supports strategic decision-making and continuous improvement
- contributing to governance and continuous improvement initiatives across the employee relations function.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- a proven ability to apply critical thinking and sound judgement to research, analyse and problem solve employee relations issues
- skill and experience analysing trends and data, developing insights and translating these into appropriate strategies, interventions and innovative solutions
- sound knowledge of contemporary employee relations issues and strategies, including the ability to apply industrial frameworks, legislation and HR procedures
- highly developed written, oral and interpersonal skills
- demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with effective organisational skills and ability to priorities work demands.
