The role
We’re seeking an experienced and customer-focused Technical Officer to join our dedicated and hardworking team within Public Space Operations. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of your role and showcase your arboriculture expertise.
As a Technical Officer Arboriculture, you will provide specialist advice on tree asset management to senior staff and external stakeholders. Your role will involve supporting internal arboriculture teams in the planning and delivery of tree maintenance programs across Brisbane.
You will conduct both proactive and reactive tree inspections, prepare reports, and respond to customer enquiries ensuring that tree removal practices and standards are properly applied. A Council vehicle will be provided for field work, allowing you to start and finish your day on-site. Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities will be key to your success in this role.
To be considered for the position, you will have:
- the ability to provide quality customer service
- strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- demonstrated experience in conducting detailed tree condition and risk assessment inspections
- the ability to become proficient in the operation of corporate software packages
- demonstrated planning, prioritisation, and organisational skills
- the ability to assist in disaster recovery operations
- a Certificate III in Horticulture (Arboriculture) and a C or CA class drivers’ licence are required for this role.
