The Role
As a Senior Works Supervisor, you will support the Construction Manager and/or Coordinator in delivering civil infrastructure construction and maintenance projects across the Greater Brisbane region. In this role, you will lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of multiple civil work teams. You will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling works, ensuring appropriate resourcing, and monitoring progress to achieve safety, quality, and performance targets.
To succeed in this role you will have:
- demonstrated evidence of capabilities in Council’s Leadership Blueprint to deliver performance excellence and a values-based culture.
- thorough knowledge of and the ability to apply, relevant WHS and Environmental and quality policies and procedures in the operational field environment
- demonstrated knowledge and understanding of maintenance and construction techniques for civil infrastructure such as kerb and channel, kerb ramps, footpaths, bikeways, gullies, manholes, waterways, drainage, pipe laying, pre-cast devices, asphalt works, line-marking and signage works.
- demonstrated ability to support the delivery of projects to agreed timeframes, budget and standards.
- sound written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with operational staff, managers, clients and other stakeholders.
- demonstrated knowledge of, and the ability to deploy appropriate machinery, materials and plant for the undertaking of construction and maintenance activities.
- demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills suitable for identifying risks and for resolving issues with teams, customers and stakeholders.
Desirable
Technical experience and/or trade qualifications or equivalent suitable for civil construction and maintenance services.
Experience using project or works management software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Project, SAP and/or other office software packages.
