Corporate Services support, equip and help guide Council to deliver the Brisbane Vision through centralised corporate services and a customer-focused approach.
Our Branch
Information Services branch (ISB) delivers digital and information technologies to maintain and enhance Council’s information, processes and systems, and enable data driven insights to improve decision-making and customer experience.
The Role
Working within the Infrastructure Domain Program, the Technical Consultant (Network Engineer) will support major infrastructure projects. The role contributes to the technical delivery of transformation and upgrade projects and provide expert guidance across the team. You will love communicating effectively at all levels and delivering exceptional customer service.
To be successful you will have:
- in-depth knowledge of routing and switching technologies for enterprise or service provider environments (BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, DMVPN, WiFi, etc.).
- a willingness to participate in after-hours rostered support for business-critical operations or disaster recovery events to ensure uninterrupted service
- proficiency in scripting using automation tools such as Ansible, Python, or other similar tools as well as Linux/Ubuntu system administration.
- experience in designing networks for large enterprises or ISPs, including the ability to produce High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), test plans, and migration plans.
- ability to contribute to business planning, technical direction and product/service development
- excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
