Our Business
Infrastructure Services brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.
Traffic Network Services install and maintain traffic signals, intelligent transport systems, including traffic CCTV, Variable Message Signs (VMS), the fibre optic cabling and data network to support the traffic signals and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) devices throughout Brisbane.
The Role
Join our small team of night shift, Traffic Signal Technicians and support Brisbane to keep moving safely. Your nights will transform with ever changing, fault finding, problem solving and testing of traffic signals, planned construction and reactive maintenance across our entire network.
Street lighting, closed circuit television cameras (CCTV), and other ITS installations, will be how you will spend your evenings, stay away from the summer heat and enjoy Brisbane by night.
Night shift means you work in a small team of 3 or 4, Monday to Thursday each week, from 7pm – 430am, with paid breaks, 25% loading and potential for additional paid overtime on top. Start and finish from the same location each shift.
Starting position is C8 with associated skills payment with an opportunity to progress to C7 with skills payment in your future career.
Ongoing certified training and upskilling provided for Confined Space, EWP over 11mtrs, MR licence and dogman licence training available.
To be successful you will have:
- knowledge and ability to apply Workplace Health and Safety Act, Electrical Safety Act, and Electrical Wiring rules
- ability to interpret instructions and engineering drawings
- proven ability to work from ladders, at heights and in confined spaces
- experience in electrical construction and maintenance in a commercial and operational environment
- ability to work in a team, including providing guidance and support to apprentices and other team members.
Mandatory requirements for this role are:
- a C class drivers' licence
- an electrical workers licence
- a work safely in the construction industry (white card)
- ability to work night shift.
