Our Branch
City Legal is a specialist provider of legal services to Brisbane City Council and its subsidiary companies. We provide a comprehensive range of cost-effective legal services, adding value to Council's core business and major projects.
The Role
An excellent permanent opportunity currently exists for a solicitor, ideally with at least 4 years’ post-admission experience, to join our dedicated friendly team.
You will be using your expertise and superior communication skills to provide and prepare legal advice and documentation on procurement contracts and arrangements, competition and consumer law matters, as well as governance and intellectual property law matters. Accordingly, there will be real variety in work during your day.
The key to this role will be your knowledge in complex construction, intellectual property and/or information technology law particularly in relation to contract management, variation and termination, risk management and payment disputes. You will truly enjoy the rewards of working in a supportive team providing front-end advice and drafting project documents in a fast-paced environment whilst being challenged and engaged with varied work.
To be successful you will:
- be admitted to practise as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland
- hold, or be eligible to hold, a current Practising Certificate from the Queensland Law Society
- have experience in complex construction, intellectual property and/or information technology law particularly in relation to contract management, variation and termination, risk management and payment disputes
- possess excellent communication and negotiation skills
- have exceptional attention to detail
- maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
