The Information Services branch at Brisbane City Council are seeking an enthusiastic Functional Support Officer RIMS CLD to provide exemplary support service to a wide range of internal customers.

Our Branch: Information Services supports and enables nearly all of Council’s day-to-day activities and services through efficient, flexible, and innovative ICT solutions. We lead the ICT strategy that supports the business objectives of Council as a whole, as well as information management and ICT service delivery in Council.
This role: You will provide vital support for Council’s rating and land information systems, including Revenue Information Management System (RIMS) and Core Land Database (CLD). You will be the go-to‑to service extraordinaire for system users, ensuring issues are resolved quickly, system operations run smoothly, and improvements are actively identified and implemented. This is a hands-on role where you will monitor system performance, manage user access and security, investigate customer trends, develop SQL queries/reports, conduct user acceptance testing, and contribute to key ICT and corporate projects.
Play a key part in strengthening our internal capability under the Corporate Services strategy. This is a unique opportunity to work within a large technology environment, support excellent customer service and achievement of consistent service level standards. You will enjoy engagement with stakeholders at all levels, navigating organisational complexity and driving staff engagement, commitment, and clarity of systems.
In this role you will:
- Supporting users of RIMS, CLD and Properties on the Web, ensuring excellent customer experience
- enjoy liaising with internal teams and external organisations to resolve system related‑related issues
- monitoring daily system interfaces and identifying opportunities for system enhancements
- develop SQL queries and reports to analyse and present system data
- provide insights, data trends, and recommendations to the Team Leader
- preparing reports and supporting ongoing system improvement initiatives
- role model‑model Council’s Customer First behaviours, contributing to a high performing‑performing team culture.
What you will bring:
- Experience providing system support in an IT environment
- strong understanding of relational databases, including experience writing queries and reports
- excellent communication skills you can consult, negotiate, coordinate and support stakeholders in complex environments.
- proven analytical and problem-solving‑solving abilities with a knack for spotting trends in data.
- ability to organise your work, prioritise, meet deadlines, and deliver outcomes.
- a collaborative mindset with the ability to contribute positively to team goals and performance.
Desirable:
- Experience working with RIMS, CLD or Properties on the Web
- ITIL v3 certification
- relevant tertiary qualification in IT, Information Systems or similar.
