The Role
The City Malls Operations Team Leader plays a vital role in the day-to-day management of Brisbane’s iconic City and Valley Malls, ensuring they remain safe, welcoming, and vibrant spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy retail, recreation, and entertainment experiences.
The Team Leader is responsible for leading an operational team, managing key stakeholder relationships, negotiating and overseeing service agreements, and contributing to policy development, strategic planning, and asset management to ensure the ongoing success and smooth operation of the precincts.
Key responsibilities include monitoring and managing compliance, safety, maintenance, cleaning, landscaping, social issues, events, activity permit management, and retail activity. The Team Leader works closely with traders, retailers, contractors, local law enforcement, residents, as well as representatives from Council, government agencies, and community organisations to ensure exceptional service delivery and precinct upkeep, while playing a key role in strategic and asset planning to sustain and improve precinct infrastructure over time.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated capability in Council’s Leadership Blueprint to drive performance excellence
- sound knowledge and application of Workplace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies
- strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement
- proven experience in managing complex operations with competing priorities
- ability to proactively monitor issues, identify solutions, and contribute to best practice customer service operations.
