Salary Range: Band 8 - $139,957 to $151,454.

Our Business

Council, through Transport for Brisbane (TfB), delivers public transport services to the City of Brisbane through contracts with the State Government and private organisations. Transport for Brisbane operates and maintains one of the largest public transport fleets in Australia. We have several depots across the city with dedicated garage maintenance functions.

Our Branch

Engineering and Asset Management Branch is responsible for maintenance of bus fleet and for establishing and reviewing maintenance policies and standards. The branch procures bus fleet, products, and services; and coordinates major projects and divisional ICT requirements.  

The branch is also responsible for the investigation and review of incidents involving the bus fleet and for the management of non-bus facilities and assets.

The Role

The Business Services Manager provides high level, professional, executive support and advice to the General Manager, branch leadership team, and stakeholders across the division.

You will provide strategic leadership through leading key initiatives and projects for the branch to promote change management, business improvement and cultural change which align divisional and branch strategic plans with Council’s strategic direction.

We are seeking a highly experienced business leader who can work and connect with all levels from senior management to garage staff. A leader who takes ownership of highly complex and challenging projects, who is agile in a changing environment and has expertise in developing visual performance management tools to drive change and monitor performance of strategic business outcomes.

To be successful you will have:

  • extensive experience in providing high quality advice, information and interpretation to senior levels, including visual management tools, across a range of strategy, business and operational issues
  • demonstrated analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to coach, consult, and influence senior leaders
  • proven ability in business and workforce planning, financial management and performance reporting
  • demonstrated skills and experience in leading and managing complex organisational change and strategic improvement projects
  • resilience and agility leading programs and projects in complex and rapidly changing environments.
