Duration: 8 month contract, with potential for extension

Library and Customer Delivery (L&CD) connects Brisbane residents, visitors and businesses with a wide range of Council services, information and resources. Through our network of libraries, customer service channels and specialised support services, we make it easy for the community to engage with Council by delivering seamless, connected and customer-focused experiences. Our people play an important role in providing trusted information, responsive service and practical support that helps enhance the quality of life for Brisbane's growing community 

The Role  

As an Administration Support Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Library and Customer Delivery Branch through the delivery of purchasing, procurement and administrative services. Working within the team, you'll coordinate purchasing activities, process procurement requests, maintain branch-wide registers and records, support auditing activities, and provide high-quality administrative support that helps ensure the branch operates efficiently and effectively.  

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll work closely with stakeholders across the branch, manage correspondence and shared inboxes, prepare reports and documentation, and contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery. To be successful you will have: 

  • strong administration skills with excellent attention to detail 
  • experience in purchasing and using SAP or similar enterprise systems 
  • strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities 
  • a customer-focused approach, well-developed written and verbal communication skills 
  • a collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
