Our Branch
The Engineering and Asset Management Branch is responsible for the safe, reliable and sustainable management of critical public transport assets across Brisbane. This includes maintaining a fleet of approximately 1,200 buses through first-line maintenance at garages and second-line support at Toowong Workshops; leading fleet maintenance policy, asset performance; and managing depot infrastructure, ferry terminals, electrical charging infrastructure and other supporting assets. The branch also oversees upgrade programs, incident investigations, asset assurance, major projects and the technology requirements needed to support effective public transport operations.
The Role
As Asset Assurance & Program Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of a robust asset assurance program that strengthens governance, compliance and risk management across Engineering and Asset Management’s critical public transport assets. This includes assurance oversight across the maintenance of Council’s approximately 1,200-bus fleet, depot infrastructure, ferry terminals, upgrade programs and supporting asset systems to ensure effective controls, frameworks and methodologies are in place to support safe, reliable and compliant operations.
Working closely with engineering, maintenance, asset management, risk, audit, infrastructure and operational stakeholders, you will drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and performance excellence across fleet, facilities and transport infrastructure assets.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated experience leading assurance, audit, risk or compliance programs within a complex, asset-intensive environment
- strong knowledge of asset management governance, assurance frameworks, risk management principles and regulatory compliance requirements
- proven ability to develop, implement and continuously improve assurance programs, frameworks and controls that support effective asset governance
- experience analysing assurance outcomes, identifying emerging risks and trends, and providing insightful reporting to support informed decision-making
- highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to provide trusted advice and build effective relationships across operational, technical and corporate functions
- demonstrated people leadership capability, including leading high-performing teams, developing capability and fostering a values-based culture aligned to Council's Leadership Blueprint.
